Setting up
Two minutes on each phone, and Pillow Talk works like a real app — icon, full screen, notifications.
Install on iPhone
- 1Open getpillowtalk.app in Safari — installing only works from Safari, not Chrome or an in-app browser.
- 2Tap the Share button — the square with the arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen.
- 3Scroll the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- 4From now on, open Pillow Talk from its Home Screen icon— that’s what unlocks full screen and notifications.
Needs iOS 16.4 or newer for notifications. The icon is a discreet pair of rings — no name shouts from your home screen.
Install on Android
- 1Open getpillowtalk.app in Chrome.
- 2Tap the ⋮ menu → Add to Home screen(or “Install app”), then confirm.
Turn on notifications
- 1Open the app from its icon (on iPhone, notifications only work in the installed app).
- 2On the home board, tap Notify me and allow notifications when your phone asks.
Lock-screen privacy is built in: notifications say only “New activity” — never any content, never the app’s name.
Bring your partner in
- 1Create your room and you’ll land on a waiting screen.
- 2Tap Create invite link and send it however you like — it works exactly once, just for them.
- 3They open it, pick a name, and save their code. Then they install the app the same way you did.
Your code, in plain terms
There’s no email and no password — your access code is the only key. It’s shown once when you sign up: save it somewhere safe (a password manager is perfect). If you ever lose it, your partner can make you a recovery linkfrom Settings. Checking “Remember this device” at sign-in keeps you signed in as long as you keep using the app.
Worth knowing in Settings
- Rotate code — get a fresh access code any time; the old one stops working.
- Recovery link — make one for a partner who lost their code.
- Sign out everywhere— instantly revokes every device, yours and any you’ve forgotten about.
- Safety pause — on the home board: either of you can freeze the whole room instantly; only the person who paused can resume.
- Delete— schedule room deletion (7-day undo, then it’s unrecoverable by design) or delete your account entirely.
- Send feedback — goes straight to the people who build this.
